Federal Help for Marshall Islands Planning
The Marshall Islands received $113,722 in phase one funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to use for pandemic planning activities. Marshall Islands received additional funds of $138,631 from the revised phase two of Health and Human Services’ local and state allocations. A supplemental $136,539 was awarded to help strengthen the Islands' capacity to respond to a pandemic influenza outbreak. These grants are based on a formula adjusted for population.

State Activities
On April 24, 2006, Guam Governor Felix Camacho hosted a summit on pandemic response and emergency planning for all the Pacific jurisdictions. The President of the Republic of the Marshall Islands participated in the summit hosted by Guam.
